Keynote Speaker

Ruth Kaila has a long and comprehensive academic career, characterized by her dedication to both teaching and research in interdisciplinary fields. Currently, she is a lecturer and researcher in Financial Risk Management at Aalto University, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management. Previously, she was involved in similar tasks at the Department of Mathematics at Helsinki University of Technology. With over 20 years of teaching experience across various departments at Aalto University, Ms. Kaila has developed deep expertise in quantitative finance, mathematical modeling, economics, and business strategy, along with a strong understanding of the potential of emerging technologies in the financial sector.

Ms. Kaila holds a PhD (Tech) in Mathematics from Helsinki University of Technology, along with Master's degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management (Helsinki University of Technology), Cybersecurity (University of Jyväskylä), and Art History (University of Helsinki). Her educational background also includes extensive studies in university pedagogy. In line with this diverse academic foundation, Ms. Kaila adopts an interdisciplinary approach to both teaching and research. Her research centers on mathematical finance, particularly the application of quantitative methods and AI in financial markets. Ms. Kaila has delivered numerous presentations at international conferences and professional events, and has contributed to several academic projects focused on financial technologies.
