Miro Malmelin, M.Sc. (Econ.), has been appointed Commercial Director, Organizations at Aalto University Executive Education Ltd (Aalto EE).
Malmelin has extensive experience in executive education and leadership development, having worked in the field in Finland and in Hong Kong for the past fifteen years. He worked at Aalto EE also in 2013–2017 in several leadership positions, for example, as Head of Sales and Customer Value.
“The field of executive education and leadership development is undergoing major changes due to digitalization, among many other things. I want to be involved in ensuring that Aalto EE is in the forefront of driving the executive education field forward and is the number one of that field in the Nordics,” Malmelin says.
“Currently, companies have a huge need and pressure to reskill and upskill and develop competencies and leadership. Aalto EE’s role is to support companies and organizations in the best possible ways and help them to renew. I am excited to return to Aalto EE at this interesting stage when not only the entire industry but also our own organization is being renewed with the new strategy.”
Malmelin moved to Aalto EE from Henley Business School where he worked as Business Unit Director in 2018–2022.

Sivula holds a master’s degree in economics and management studies from the University of Aberdeen. Since 2016, she has worked at the Aalto University School of Business as a program director and in roles related to developing teaching. Most recently, she worked as the Head of Summer School.
In her new role, Sivula works as a Business Area Director at both Aalto University and Aalto EE, developing their lifewide learning portfolio.
“The need to learn permeates all fields, organizations, and professions. Aalto University and Aalto EE in cooperation have a unique opportunity to offer new learning solutions based on degree education and research in an easily accessible form,” says Sivula.
“We will see big changes in the field of lifewide learning, especially in terms of platform-based learning and smaller learning entities. The Aalto community’s strong expertise in digitalization will support lifewide learning in the development of operating models.”
