The Aalto Executive MBA program has once again been selected among the top 100 out of the estimated four thousand EMBA programs in the world. The annual ranking is published by the prestigious financial magazine Financial Times.
Aalto Executive MBA received the best score for customer satisfaction out of the four Nordic institutions in the comparison.
"We are also really proud that we are among the top ten in terms of customer satisfaction when looking at the EMBA programs offered in Europe. The Financial Times' Executive MBA ranking is one of the most important international comparisons in our field," says Mikko Laukkanen, Academic Director of Aalto EE.
This year, the Aalto EMBA program improved its ranking and ranked #88 (#93 in 2023).
Aalto EMBA's ranking was improved, among other reasons, by the changed criteria of FT's comparison. The FT EMBA ranking consists of seventeen differently weighted criteria, to which alumni networks, carbon footprint and sustainability have been newly added.
Aalto EMBA's carbon footprint ranked #19 globally among the programs in the ranking. The criteria noted whether publicly audited information on the carbon footprint of the educational organization is available. Aalto University has such an audit.
"We have watched with delight that FT has caught up with the times and increased the importance of responsibility and sustainable development in its measures. We do well with these things – not because we want to succeed in the rankings, but because we think that they are important,” emphasizes Laukkanen.
Also, the addition of alumni activities to the criteria supported Aalto EMBA's position in the comparison. The quality of alumni activities was evaluated by the students, and Aalto EMBA's ranked #49.
"Success in alumni activities means that we have excellent participants. The program manages to attract experienced participants, who create a unique environment for everyone in the group to learn from others and network. It's great that they want to be actively involved in our world-class alumni activities and are able to make use of the valuable networks built during their studies years after graduation," says Kerttu Kuokkanen, Director responsible for Aalto MBA programs.
The FT Ranking is based on both the information provided directly to the Financial Times by the participants and statistical data produced by the universities. The respondents in the ranking are always those who graduated from the Aalto Executive MBA program three years ago.
Aalto EMBA has been listed in the top 100 in the Financial Times Executive MBA ranking continuously since 2006. During this time, more than 200 programs have participated, of which only twenty have reached such a long-term achievement.
