Basic knowledge and/or experience on construction management is recommended.
Contents and Schedule
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how lean principles and digital solutions can transform construction processes. You will explore key strategies to enhance project efficiency, improve quality, and reduce waste, while learning how to harness digital tools to streamline workflows.
The course consists of short lecture videos and reading materials, reflection tasks, and other assignments, such as quizzes. You can complete the course flexibly at your own pace from anywhere in the world. The estimated study time of the course is 54 hours, and you will have access to the course materials for 90 days.
The language of the course is English.
The course is divided into five modules, each focusing on a specific topic:

- Module 2 - Supply chain management
- Module 3 - Digital situation picture in construction management
- Module 4 - Industrialized and modular construction

Instructors

Antti Peltokorpi
Antti Peltokorpi is an Associate Professor of operations management in construction at Aalto University, Department of Civil Engineering.
In his research he has focused on modularity and industrialization in construction, AI and data-based transformation of the sector, and digital supply chain management. He has over 100 scientific publications on these topics. Peltokorpi is also a Vice Dean for Impact at School of Engineering. Besides his academic merits, he works in close collaboration with the AEC industry.

Olli Seppänen
Olli Seppänen is an Associate professor of operations management in construction at Aalto University, Department of Civil Engineering.
He has focused on lean and digital production planning and control and design management. He has over 100 scientific publications on these topics and has also 15 years of practical consulting experience before joining academia.
